These Terms apply to the adult account holder, each enrolled dancer, and the dancer's parent or legal guardian when the dancer is a minor. The studio is Serendipity Dance Company, doing business as Serendipity Dance Co.
Enrollment & Tuition
Enrollment depends on class availability and any age, level, or instructor-approval requirements. Tuition reserves the dancer's place while the dancer remains enrolled and the family account remains current.
The regular dance season runs from September through June. Monthly tuition is posted on the first of the month and expected by the third. A valid card must remain on file, and any outstanding balance is charged to that card on the third or the next business day.
Monthly tuition is not increased for five-week months or reduced for three-week months, holiday breaks, absences, or ordinary studio closures. Full December and June tuition remains due. Registration, recital, costume, ticket, competition, and other event-charge due dates are separate and are disclosed before they are charged.
An annual registration fee is due when a dancer registers for the season. A dancer who withdraws during the season and later returns may be required to pay a new registration fee under the studio's registration policy in effect at that time.
Tuition is nonrefundable after it is posted. Any exception, credit, or billing adjustment is decided case by case. No late fee is currently charged. If a late fee is adopted later, families will be told before it applies.
Withdrawal
A family may withdraw a dancer by contacting the front desk. Please give notice before the first of the month whenever possible so the next month's tuition is not posted. Telling the dancer's teacher is not considered notice to the front desk. Withdrawing releases the dancer's place, and the same class may not be available later.
Attendance & Makeup Classes
Regular attendance and punctuality support safe, consistent training. Dancers should arrive five to ten minutes before class.
If your dancer will be absent, please mark the absence in the parent portal.
A makeup class should be chosen based on the dancer's age, level, and available space. Parents should contact the front desk with questions about makeup classes and should not attend a makeup class without notifying the studio first.
Makeups have no cash value and are not guaranteed. They must be used by the end of the season or the dancer's last paid-through day, whichever comes first. A dancer who withdraws may not continue attending makeups, and unused makeups are not refunded.
Trial Classes
New students may receive up to two free trial classes. A currently enrolled dancer may trial a new class for $10, and additional trials are $10 each, except during a separately announced promotion such as Serendipity Rush Week.
Core and Approval-Required Classes
Company, Performance Teams, and other instructor-approved classes require consistent attendance, punctuality, proper attire and hair, preparation, respectful class behavior, and a ready-to-learn attitude. Families should be prepared for dancers to practice choreography at home, outside their weekly company class. A dancer who misses more than four classes in three months or repeatedly arrives late or unprepared may be moved to a more appropriate class after the studio speaks with the family.
Conduct and Studio Environment
Students, families, faculty, and staff must treat one another with respect. Bullying, harassment, threatening behavior, repeated disruption, unsafe conduct, and abusive communication are not permitted.
Parents and guardians should use the viewing windows and should not enter a studio during class unless invited by the teacher or needed for an emergency. Only water is allowed in dance rooms. Families are responsible for cleaning up food, drinks, trash, and personal belongings in shared areas.
The studio may remove someone when safety requires it and may suspend or end enrollment for serious or repeated conduct problems or unresolved nonpayment. Serendipity is not responsible for lost or stolen belongings.
Health and Injuries
Families must provide the requested emergency and health information and tell the instructor about any injury or limitation that may affect or be exacerbated by participation. The studio may stop participation or ask for a doctor's release when it reasonably believes participation is unsafe.
Performances and Recital
A dancer must remain enrolled and the family account must be financially current through a performance. A dancer who withdraws before a future performance may not continue to participate in that performance merely because the dancer previously committed or rehearsed.
Recital participation is optional. The recital is photographed and video recorded. A dancer who participates will appear in the recital recording, which may be provided or sold to participating families. A family that does not agree to the recital recording should not have the dancer participate in the recital.
Scheduled class and recital photo sessions may include group photographs and individual portraits. Families may buy copies, and other participating families may buy group photographs that include the dancer. A family that does not want the dancer photographed should tell the studio and have the dancer skip the applicable photo session. Serendipity cannot control the later private use of a copy purchased or received by another family.
Photo and Video Marketing
Unless the family selects the separate marketing opt-out, Serendipity may use identifiable photographs and videos of the dancer on its website, social media, emails, printed materials, studio displays, paid advertising, and other Serendipity promotional materials.
The marketing opt-out applies to Serendipity's own marketing after the studio receives it. It does not remove a dancer from a recital recording, a private practice video shared with participating dancers or families, or a scheduled class or recital photo session offered to participating families. Serendipity will not use an opted-out dancer's recital footage or photographs for its own future marketing. Material already printed, distributed, or published may not always be removable. Families may use the parent portal to change a dancer's marketing preference when that control is available; otherwise, contact Serendipity.
Schedule Changes and Studio Cancellations
The studio may change instructors, combine or cancel classes, or adjust the schedule because of enrollment, facility conditions, weather, illness, emergencies, or other operating needs. When Serendipity cancels a class, the family may request a makeup through the regular process. Makeups have no cash value.
Privacy and Text Messages
The Privacy Policy explains how personal information is collected and used. Text-message permission is separate and optional. Accepting these Terms does not enroll anyone in text messages or accept the separate liability release.
Changes to These Terms
Serendipity may update these Terms when its programs, practices, or legal obligations change. The current version will show its effective date. Families will receive additional notice when a change materially affects their obligations or permissions. A copy of these Terms can be found on the Serendipity website and at the studio.
